Love Redesigned by Lauren Asher Review

Lauren Asher: the QUEEN of romance books, and the queen of BookTok. On the 7th of November, Love Redesigned, the first book in Lauren's new series, Lakefront Billionaires, was released, and it did not disappoint.

I'm one for a fun, little book shopping story! The week before the release, I was scrolling on the Waterstones app as one does, and came across Love Redesigned, bearing in mind, I've had this book on pre-order from Amazon for AGES. I clicked onto it and saw that it said there were the last few copies available at my local store - WHAT. This doesn't happen very often, and when it does, normally you'll go into the shop, try and take the book to the till, and then the employees won't let you buy it until release day... not my local store! I reserved it, went to pick it up, paid for it, went home and started reading it IMMEDIATELY!

The first book that I read by Lauren was Throttled which is part of her F1 series, and from reading that, I fell in love with her writing, stories and characters. Earlier this year, I read the Dreamland Billionaires series (The Fine Print, Terms and Conditions, and Final Offer), and it instantly became one of my favourite series. I love interconnected standalones, especially when we see all of the characters in all of the books, so when I found out that Love Redesigned was based in Lake Wisteria, the small town where Cal and Alana from Final Offer live, I knew I would love it. There's something about small town romance books that just hit different. I love the town gossip, I love that everyone knows everyone. It just feels so cosy and comforting.

Love Redesigned follows the story of Julian and Dahlia. They've always been part of each other's lives as their mum's have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Both of them grew up in Lake Wisteria, and despite being big parts of each other's lives, they've never been friendly towards each other. For many years, they have been trying to avoid each other to the best of their ability, but when Dahlia finds herself back in town after her engagement breaking down, they are forced to spend time together. Little did they know that this was exactly what they needed. They're both older, wiser, more mature (ish lol), and are forced to acknowledge and admit their feelings towards each other. It

was such a fun and steamy start to the series, which was just the perfect way to do it! I loved the witty banter throughout the book, and how strong and independent Dahlia was. Reading about their pranks that they played on each other brought me a sense of comfort which I really loved.

Getting to know both Julia and Dahlia was so much fun as they've both got so much depth to them. I personally felt their chemistry straight away, and fell in love with Julian from the first time we met him. Can we also just talk about the Spanish in this book?! Sometimes authors add differently languages into their book, expecting their readers to know what's being said (which most of the time, we don't!), but whenever Spanish was used in this book, there were little text boxes at the bottom of the page that had the Spanish word or phrase, and then what it translates to in English. This was super helpful

and I think because Spanish is classed as quite a sexy language, seeing Julian talk to Dahlia in Spanish just made me fall in love with him more haha!

Yes, this is a romance book, but I loved every element of this story outside of the main romance storyline. The character development was SO strong. They were both such great characters alone, and also together. Family is such a big thing for me, and I love reading about characters that are so family oriented. I loved Julian's relationship with his mum, it made me so happy to read, and I just love when MMC's have soft spots for their parents.

I've already mentioned that I love the Dreamland Billionaires series, but when CAL AND ALANA SHOWED UP?!?!?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!??!! And then Lauren thought she'd bless us with a DECLAN AND IRIS CAMEO?!?!?! Lauren, you have no idea how much we love you for this <3

I absolutely loved this story, and it's made me super excited for the rest of the series! We seriously need Rafa’s story because, hello, we love single dads, and also Lily and Lorenzo’s story because we love virgin heroines.
